The Beginning of a Journey Starts With the First Step

Here it is, my first step of a journey. Right now this is a metamorphical or figurative step. In the coming days and months I foresee a lot of work, growth and travel. Some readers already know me in person. Other readers will be introduced to me for the first time here. Still others have known me in person and are getting reacquainted with me after a long absence. This first blog entry has been a long time in the works. I recently celebrated my birthday. It was a fairly quiet day. I worked nine hours and had no complaints. The work I am doing presently gives me a great deal of satisfaction and too often time passes much too quickly. It is Spring, the sun is out warming, drying and growing the surrounding landscape after the heavy rains of the past weekend. In future postings I will introduce many of you to this area. I will also take you on my adventures and travels, both near and far. I would like to include photos, video and perhaps some audio from people, places and things that I encounter. Some of my postings will be longer than others. Sometimes it may be several days between blogs. I will be citing authors, poets, artists, business people, healers, athletes, moms, dads, sons, daughters... well you get the idea. I am a people person and if they agree, I will share what they have to contribute. I also am a fan of social networking and have signed up for Facebook, Twitter, Linkn and Plaxo. I am fairly active on Facebook and Twitter. I am still figuring out how to link them all together and to stay current with them. Alright, I have rambled on long enough in this first post and I would like to leave you with a familar poem by Robert Frost...

1. The Road Not Taken
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20
